Drive 1 (15:00)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D25 1 10 1 2 2Wingx2 3-4 under Run(1) Wide Zone 2
Norman is pressed nose to nose over Dez like he’s about to fight him.  Hood is playing off the line.  McGee (+0.5) slaps the LG and he trips and falls which saves Hood from a backside blow.  TE double on smith, as he sets the edge, works up to Breeland whose the de facto safety as DJ lined up over #2.  Vigil (+0.5) makes a quick read and fills outside of Ion which forces the RB to cut back into the waiting arms of Kerrigan (+0.5)
D27 2 8 1 2 2x2WRH Nickel Even Run(1) Tight Zone 2
I guess we are treating TE #84 as a WR?  Nickel formation plus the WR-H puts Norman, DJ and Fuller at Linebacker level making this a 4-5-2.  McGee and Ion are your starting tackles in the Nickel.  McGee (+2) absorbs and torques his double away from Vigil (+1) who is clean enough to make a clinic form up tackle.  This formation might have screwed with the zone double teams.  Goddamn McGee is a strong dude.
D29 3 6 1 1 Empty 3(2stack)x2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Smash Inc
Outside route takes the fade, I think Dak was trying to back shoulder the throw (coverage +1)
Punt.  McGee gets the start next Ion, I think we are hiding Hood in this one, he got owned last game by the C-RG combo blocking.

Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D10 1 10 1 2 3(2Wing)x1 3-4 under Pass(2) HB Dumpoff Inc
2 safeties high with man coverage underneath (coverage +1) (pressure -1)
D10 2 10 1 1 3×1(tight) Nickel Even Pass(1) Zone Read 3
They read Smith who crashes, Brown (-0.5) is late to scrape over but has the make up speed to correct.
D13 3 7 1 1 3×1 Nickel Split Pass(1) In/Out -9
This is the same route combo New York used to get a horizontal stretch on our underneath coverage, doesn’t work (coverage +1).  We blitz both backers and send six (pressure +1).  Lanier (+0.5) and Brown (+0.5) suck in blockers inside as Harvey-Clemons (+2) loops around, fights off a block and makes the sack.  Smith (+1) contained Dak on the outside and funneled him up to H-C.
Punt.
Drive 3 (6:01)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D16 1 10 1 1 2x2WRH Nickel Even Pass(1) PA OZ Naked Inc
DJ (+0.5) (coverage +1) doesn’t bite on the PA and sticks to Witten who is usually the primary outlet on these things.  Brown gets underneath the crosser and Dak has to throw it away as DJ (+0.5) comes off the TE at the right time to force Dak to throw it.
D16 2 10 1 1 3×1 Nickel Even Pass(1) Tight Zone 3
McGee (+1.5) peeks into the B gap and forces the RB to cut it inside, where Anderson (+1.5) is crushing his TE block and forces the RB to cut it to the play side A gap.  McGee gets off his blocker and dives at the feet of the RB causing a pile up.
D19 3 7 1 1 3×1 Nickel Trips Pass(1) Smash/Out 6
Dak steps up in the pocket and has to check it down to his out route (coverage +1) Breeland (+2) comes off his route and makes a first down saving tackle.
Punt fumbled by Crowder (-infinity)
W43 1 10 1 1 3Hx1 Nickel Even Pass(1) PA SZ Flat Inc
Francis and McGee are your tackles.  Fuller takes away the MOF option (coverage +1) Vigil looks like Kerrigan trying to cover the flat, damn he slow.  (pressure -1)
W43 2 10 1 1 2×2 Nickel Over Run(1) Wide Zone (weak) 1
Francis (+1) forces cutback from the intended gap into McGee (+1) who fights off his block and makes initial contact and him and Francis clean up.  Looks like we are running a stunt with Brown taking contain and Kerrigan chasing from behind, that makes way more sense.
W42 3 9 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Split Pass(2) In/Post Inc
I think dak had the post opening up but wasn’t patient enough, Everett (+1) (coverage +1) with the PBU.
Punt.  Vigil in for H-C on the third and nine.
Drive 4 (1:52)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D41 1 10 1 2 2Wingx2 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone 4
Doubles on Hood and Lanier, Vigil (-0.5) doesn’t trust Breeland to fill and chases the RB to the outside gap and gives up the interior, he is able to hop back inside to make the tackle along with Francis (+0.5) who came from all the way on the other side of the line.  He gets points for effort.
D45 2 6 2 1 I-Form 2×1(tight) 3-4 under Run(1) Iso Will 1
McGee, Hood, Brown and Kerrigan all hold the line play side and force the cutback.  Francis (+2) sheds the left tackle and makes the play.
D46 3 6 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Scramble 13
Dunbar is a late sub, he and Everett can’t get lined up properly, coverage ends up being fine (coverage +1) but Brown (-1) has his back turned to the line and nobody has Dak if he steps up to the middle of the field.
W41 1 10 1 3 2Wingx2H 3-4 under Run(1) Wide Zone 3
Zach Brown injured.  McGee (+1) two gaps the RT and forces the RB to hesitate.
W38 2 7 1 1 2×2 Nickel Even Run(1) Wide Zone 7
RB reads Spaight filling and cuts it inside.  Hood slants into the B gap and gets hands on the inside guy from his double.  Delays him a half sec but Vigil (-1) isn’t fast enough to scrape over top and close off the A.  Hood has to make the play while fighting off his guy.
W31 1 10 1 1 2x2WRH Nickel Even Run(1) Tight Zone 1
Kerrigan (+1) slants inside and locks out the TE, Everett (+0.5) wraps around him and takes away the gap outside, Norman with contain.  McGee (+1) drops to a knee, stalemates the double, and clogs up the gap inside of Kerrigan.  Hood (-0.5) got removed from the line but luckily the RB didn’t see it.  Smith eventually closes in and makes the tackle.
W30 2 9 1 1 3×1(tight) Nickel Even Pass(1) PA WR Screen/Scramble 1
WR motions and Fuller (+1) (coverage +1) sniffs out the WR screen.  Dak has to hold it and pick up what he can.  Hood (-0.5) lost contain on his rush but Spaight (+0.5) and Vigil (+0.5) closed in quickly.
W29 3 8 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Over Pass(1) Double Drags 10
RB motions out wide and draws Vigil in coverage.  Norman (-1) (coverage -1) loses underneath leverage.
W19 1 10 1 1 3Hx1 Nickel Even Run(1) Tight Zone -1
LG and LT try to overlap block Lanier and Vigil (+2) just shoots the gap in front of him and gets the TFL.  Ioannidis (+0.5) takes a knee and walls off the double team from reaching Spaight behind him.  Spaight threatens the outside gap and makes the RB cut it back inside.
W20 2 11 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Over Pass(2) Double Drags (+6)
Defensive PI on Fuller.  Looks like a bad call to me.
W14 1 10 2 1 Offset-I 2×1(tight) 3-4 under Run(1) Counter 6
WR motions inside like he’s going to crack down on Kerrigan.  This makes Kerrigan shoot his gap (contain) in order to beat it which is what they wanted him to do, kinda genius.  Fullback pulls and kicks out Brown, HB is funneled into Hood (-1) who misses the tackle.  He actually did a hell of a move to beat the pile caving in but just can’t finish the play.  Vigil (-0.5) cedes too many yards after contact.
W8 2 4 1 1 Pistol 3×1(tight) Nickel Over Pass(1) PA Slant 8(TD)
Play Action holds DJ (-1) is frozen by the two receiving threats on either side (coverage -1)  and that opens up the slant.  H-C (-1) lost the RB in coverage.
Touchdown.  Not able to get iined up cost us the 13 yard scramble.  Then a questionable PI call followed by really bad coverage from DJ and H-C on the touchdown.
Drive 5 (9:43)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
W19 1 10 1 1 3×1 Nickel Even Run(2) Mid Zone 8
Six in the box versus six blockers.  Hood closes down the backside A gap.  McGee and Kerrigan the playside.  Vigil (-1) over pursues play side, Smith (-1) is late to close in back side and misses the tackle.
W11 2 2 1 1 2×2 Nickel Even Run(1) Tight Zone 1
Brown (+1) reads tight zone and dive bombs the A gap, RB bounces it outside and Kerrigan (+1) closes in.  McGee with penetration.
W10 3 1 1 2 Pistol 3(bunch)x1 3-4 under Run(1) Option pitch 1
H-C (+1) with a nice hit on the QB to force pitch.  Brown make contact with Smith on his pursuit angle that’s what buys the RB time to get the yard.  DJ had a lot of ground to cover from his FS alley fill.
W9 1 9 1 1 2×2 Nickel Over Run(1) Tight Zone Read 4
DJ comes down late and is the read man.  McGee (-0.5) and Hood (-0.5) get sealed out, opens up an alley up the middle.
W5 2 5 1 1 2Hx2H Nickel Over Pass(GL) PA OZ Flat -2
Brown (+1) and Fuller (+1) (coverage +1) close in quickly, Everett (+1) (pressure +1) forced the early throw.
W12 3 12 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Even Pass(1) WR Screen (-5)6
False Start on the previous play.  Brown (+1) slows down the WR just enough for help to arrive.  Damn good play call from the offense.
FG is good.  Defense stepped up and made the best out of a crappy situation.

Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D13 1 10 1 3 2Wingx2H 3-4 under Run(1) Split Zone 7
Kerrigan (-1) runs himself out the play  RB bounces it outside for a chunk gain.  Looks like a scrape exchange but Brown (-1) fails to get over and covers the same gap as Ion.
D20 2 3 1 3 3Wingx1 3-4 over Run(1) Crack Sweep 3
3Wing side forces Norman to play linebacker.  Vigil replaces the crack on Hood but run has hit outside, Ioannidis (+1.5) defeats his cut block and chases down the line and makes the tackle.  Smith (+0.5) sets the edge against the first puller and funnels.  Norman (+1) cuts down the second puller.
D23 1 10 1 1 2×2 Nickel Even Pass(2) PA OZ TE Drag Inc
They target DJ with the TE Drag, he ‘s able to stay close enough to force a tough throw on the run (coverage +1)
D23 2 10 1 1 2×2 Nickel Over Run(2) Wide Zone 8
Hood (-1) gets doubled and removed, Smith (-1) can’t fight through the LT block and an alley opens up.  Fuller has to close in off his CB blitz that was set up for any bootleg action.
D31 3 2 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Over Pass(1) Mesh Inc
(pressure -1)(Coverage +1) H-C takes the RB out wide.  Norman (+1) stays with the mesh route.
Punt.
Drive 8 (5:21)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D16 1 10 1 1 3×1 Nickel Even Run(1) Wide Zone 9
Kerrigan sets a strong edge, RB cuts it back behind Francis (-1.5) who got destroyed by a LT push in the back.  Smith closes down just enough to get a shoe string tackle.  We blitz Vigil to the Center and the double team is taken off of Hood.
D25 2 1 1 1 2Hx2 Nickel Even Run(1) Wide Zone 2
Kerrigan (+1) chases it down from behind.  Unlike Smith he forgoes the QB contain and just high tails it.  Francis kept his gap, Hood got removed from the line.
D27 1 10 2 1 Offset-I 2×1 3-4 even Pass(2) Iso PA Comeback 11
Brown (-0.5) bites down hard but the FB doesn’t understand how to run a route and runs into Breeland’s flat coverage–nvm that’s J-Witt, what was he doing?  Dak has to abort and make a holy shit amazing throw to the far sideline on a comeback. (coverage +1)
D38 1 10 1 3 3Wingx1 3-4 over Run(1) Tight Zone 8
McGee (+0.5) funnels the RB inside to Brown (-1) who whiffs a shoulder tackle.  He’s hurt.
D46 2 2 1 2 2Wingx2 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone 8
Anderson (-1) does a great job getting penetration inside but then doesn’t trust his scrape help over top and tries to two gap.  Loses the RB inside.  He could’ve stopped this play cold if he just kept working inside.  Hood (-1) can’t hold up that long inside and gets removed, a cavern opens up inside.
W46 1 10 1 3 2Wingx2 3-4 over Pass(1) PA OZ Out Inc
Bad throw on the run bails us out.
W46 2 10 1 1 3×1 Nickel Over Run(1) Wide Zone 4
Lanier forces a cutback into Ioannidis (-0.5) who gets driven back and cedes 4 yards.
W42 3 6 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Out/In 24
Man free coverage and Breeland (-2) (coverage -1) gets beat badly inside.  Brown doesn’t drop so he’s a spy.  Breeland (-1) misses the tackle too. (pressure -1)
W18 1 10 1 1 3×1 Nickel Over Run(1) Mid Zone 2
Smith (+0.5) finally stops checking for boot.  Lanier (+1) throws the guard down and helps Brown (+0.5) make the play.  Vigil (+0.5) and Ion (+0.5) run a stunt to force cutback.
W16 2 8 1 1 3×1 Nickel Over Pass(2) Scramble 3
(pressure +1) Brown (+1) comes off his man and forces the slide. (coverage +1)
W13 3 5 1 1 2×2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Fade 13(TD)
Breeland (-3) (coverage -2). Bree never even turns around.  I’ve heard of this technique in college, but they call you for face guarding in the NFL.
Touchdown.  Breeand beaten twice.  Brown playing hurt, can barely wrap up on a tackle.
Drive 9 (11:28)
Ln Dn Ds RB TE Off Formation Def Formation Run/Pass(SH) Play Call Yards
D25 1 10 1 2 2×2 3-4 under Run(1) Crack Sweep 9
Breeland (-1) and Fuller/Vigil need to be replacers.  Breeland doesn’t realize it’s run and follows the crack like it’s a route and takes himself out the play.  That leaves fuller by himself and he has to fight through traffic.  Smith almost makes the play on his own but can’t fight through the crack
D34 2 1 1 2 2Wingx2 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone 6
Vigil (-1) is stacked behind Francis and never makes it over to his gap until the last minute and then is run over by the RB.
D40 1 10 1 3 3Wingx1 3-4 over Run(1) Tight Zone 15
Lanier (-2) gets sealed out by the center, he lost that block straight up.  I’m not a fan of how wide Kerrigan (-0.5) is on his contain.
W45 1 10 1 2 2×2 3-4 over Run(1) Wide Zone 11
Anderson (+0.5) sets a decent edge something Kerrigan and Smith have not been doing.  6 vs 6 with Galette taken out by the Boot action.  Brown (-1) fires to soon and takes himself out the play. The RB was aiming wide and had no room to cut it where Brown plugged.  McGee (-1) tries to 2 gap the tackle and can’t get outside.
W34 1 10 1 2 2Wingx2 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone 4
Lineman slant inside and create a pile with Francis (+0.5) clogging the middle, Norman (+0.5) collapses from the outside.
W30 2 6 1 2 2WingWRHx1 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone 3
Niether backer does anything Brown (-0.5) Vigil (-0.5) they just stand by the pile as Francis (+0.5) and Anderson (+0.5) do the work.
W27 3 3 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Arrow/Slant 10
Norman (-1) (coverage -1) gets beat inside.
W22 1 15 1 3 3Wingx1 3-4 under Run(1) Tight Zone (-5)2
False start on previous play.  First time we used an under front vs the 3Wing look I think.  Ioannidis (+2) collapses the 2 man bubble and Norman (+1) comes in to try and force a fumble.
W15 2 8 1 1 2×2 Nickel Split Run(1) Wide Zone (+5)-2
13 men on the field previous play.  Smith (+0.5) sets an edge, Lanier (+1) takes away cut back and Kerrigan (+1) runs down the play from behind.
W17 3 10 1 1 Empty 3×2 Nickel Split Pass(1) Back Shoulder Inc(+16)
Defensive PI on Breeland (-3)(coverage -2)
W1 1 1 2 3 Goalline Goalline Run Wide Zone 1(TD)
Lanier (-1) and Spaight (-1) can’t close the gap.
Touchdown.  Charting ceases here.
